Introduction

Welcome to the January Flight Plan, our monthly eNewletter from EAA 1358, The Wiregrass Chapter.

In this month's edition of the eNewsletter, we want to start by wishing you a Happy Start to 2019, announce our fuel discount program from Aero-One and recap two days of Young Ealge Flights.

Also, there are only a few days left to apply for scholarships to Auburn Aviation Camp. Four of these scholarships will be awarded to our Young Eagles. We will be meeting many new Young Eagle Candidates at Southeast World of Works in February.

Fuel Discount from Aero-One

(A Note from Scott Capehart - General Manager, Aero-One Aviation)

Thank you for your support of Aero-One! We decided to lower our overall retail price significantly and then give our base tenants and EAA members an additional $0.65 off. We hope this helps you decide to take fuel at Aero-One instead of leaving here and stopping just to take on fuel somewhere else. It is a great price (currently $4.52 for EAA members) and we hope you realize that with the services we provide we can’t compete with a self-serve pump or someone with lesser amenities.

2019 should bring along some exciting changes for the FBO, but we strive to provide the same great service.

Young Eagle Flights - Our 500th Young Eagle!

Flight 1: Ray Carney and Bill Castlen participated in the Young Eagle Rally at Ozark, AL on Saturday, December 15th.  This event was organized and hosted by Chapter 351 of Enterprise.  Bill flew 9 new Young Eagles and Ray marshaled the youngsters to board their assigned flight.  All totaled, we flew approximately 100 youngsters!  Lots of smiling faces!

Flight 2: On January 5th, at our Young Eagle Mini-Rally, two of the new Young Eagles were Young Eagle Coordinator Dave Stock’s son and daughter, Carter and Hanna.  As usual, all involved were very happy with the ride.  These two youngsters were my 499th and 500th Young Eagles.  Great work everyone who has helped us reach this momentous milestone!

Carter and Hanna enjoying their flight.

And look whose hand is on the yoke!

Carter is all smiles!

Hanna and Carter did a great job of supporting each other.
